McDonald's Japan and Toei Animation Added to Topix Index

According to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, McDonald's Holdings Japan and Toei Animation will be added to the Topix index — the gauge that tracks large-cap, highly liquid stocks on the Japanese stock market.

The addition of the two companies to the Topix reflects a change in the index's constituent structure, which is adjusted periodically to ensure it remains representative of the market.

McDonald's Holdings Japan operates the McDonald's restaurant chain in the Japanese market, while Toei Animation is one of the country's oldest and most influential animation studios.

The news comes as the Japanese stock market closely watches index constituent adjustments, which can affect index-tracking investment flows.
