A Malaysia Airlines flight scheduled to depart from Narita International Airport near Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur aborted takeoff this morning due to a technical issue, Japan's transport ministry confirmed.
The pilot halted acceleration while the aircraft was on the runway after a warning system detected an equipment anomaly. All passengers and crew were safely returned to the terminal.
Technical engineers are now inspecting the aircraft to determine the exact cause. There is no word yet on a rescheduled departure time. The incident did not affect overall operations at the terminal.
The transport ministry said it will continue monitoring and coordinating with the airline to ensure absolute safety for flights.
