Israeli forces raided the offices of several Palestinian non-governmental organizations and the grounds of the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.
According to initial reports, Israeli forces searched the headquarters of the Union of Palestinian Women's Committees and the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association in Ramallah.
WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency, reported that Israeli snipers were also deployed around the entrances to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, the largest government medical facility in the West Bank.
Reporting from Ramallah, Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim said Israeli forces were confiscating equipment belonging to Addameer, an NGO that works for prisoners' rights.
"Israeli forces have raided one of the premises belonging to Addameer. This NGO had previously been shut down by Israeli forces. The Israeli army and authorities consider it a terrorist organization," Ibrahim said.
"This is a daytime raid, taking place right in the center of Ramallah, causing a lot of confusion. Palestinians currently have children in schools, others have relatives at work. People are worried because they know Israeli forces could shoot at them. Earlier, Israeli forces fired stun grenades at journalists covering this raid."
