LG files 11 trademark applications in Russia

South Korea's LG Group has filed 11 trademark applications in Russia, covering TV and artificial intelligence products, according to Rospatent data. The move aims to protect brand reputation and prevent counterfeits, even as the Russian market remains temporarily inaccessible.
MOSCOW, May 2 (TASS) – LG Group has filed 11 trademark applications in Russia, covering TV products and artificial intelligence technology, a TASS correspondent reported.
According to data from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the trademarks include LG OLED evo AI, LG OLED AI, LG Micro RGB evo AI, LG Mini RGB evo AI, LG QNED evo AI, LG QNED AI, LG QNED Mini LED AI, LG NANO 4K UHD AI, LG UHD AI, LG Gallery TV AI and LG Smart TV AI.
Earlier, Rospatent head Yury Zubov told TASS in an interview that well-known foreign brands are seeking to secure registration and renewal of their trademarks in Russia. According to him, trademark registration aims to curb counterfeits. Copyright holders are also interested in protecting brand reputation, even if the Russian market is temporarily inaccessible.
In March 2025, The Korea Times reported that major conglomerates such as Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics were considering a possible return to the Russian market if the conflict in Ukraine is resolved and anti-Russia sanctions are lifted.
