HANOI — Vietnam is planning to revamp its propaganda apparatus by mobilizing content creators and artificial intelligence specialists, while adopting new formats like podcasts and targeted content, according to internal documents reviewed by Reuters.
The documents show the government wants to harness the reach of social media influencers to amplify its messaging, and also leverage AI to optimize propaganda strategy. Content will be tailored based on user platform and preferences, using tools such as podcasts to achieve more effective engagement.
The move is seen as part of the Communist Party of Vietnam's efforts to adapt to a modern media environment where social media channels dominate over traditional outlets.
