According to the Government Office, the head of state has signed decisions appointing six senior officers to important military positions. The decisions took effect immediately upon signing and have been forwarded to the Ministry of National Defense for implementation.
The appointed positions include Commander of Military Region 1, Commander of Military Region 5, Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Commander of the Armored Corps, Director of the Operations Department, and Director of the Military Training Department. All appointed officers are experienced leaders with years of unit command and management, well-trained, and have excelled in their assigned tasks.
The appointments aim to consolidate the leadership and command teams of military units, meeting the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern people's army. They also seek to create positive changes in defense and military tasks across localities and units, contributing to the firm protection of the Fatherland in the new context.
Following the announcement, the Chief of the General Staff presided over a solemn ceremony to present the decisions and assign tasks to the new appointees. They pledged to give their best efforts, foster unity, build comprehensively strong units, and uphold the traditions of the Vietnam People's Army.
