As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Iran and Armenia, the leaders of Lahijan (Gilan Province, Iran) and Sisian (Syunik Province, Armenia) have officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish sister city ties between the two localities.
Under the agreement, both sides will enhance exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education, and tourism. The signing is expected to facilitate people-to-people exchanges, promote bilateral trade and investment, and preserve the unique cultural heritage of each locality.
The event marks a new step in the partnership between Iran and Armenia, opening opportunities for socio-economic development for both Lahijan and Sisian—two cities that share similarities in natural landscapes and cultural life.
