An Israeli airstrike on an apartment building in Gaza City killed one woman and wounded two others, according to hospital officials.
Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency, citing sources at Al Shifa Hospital, reported that the victim was Reem Asaad Awad, 33, who was killed in the early-morning attack on Wednesday in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.
The source said the airstrike caused severe damage to the targeted apartment and neighboring buildings. The slain woman's daughter was rescued from a large fire that broke out after the strike.
Israel said it was investigating the airstrike and claimed the target was a Hamas member, but provided no evidence.
Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera correspondent Ibrahim al-Khalili said the attack took place at 4 a.m. (1 a.m. GMT).
According to figures cited, Israel has killed 1,501 Palestinians in Gaza since a ceasefire agreement with Hamas was reached last October. The deal was part of a broader US-backed proposal aimed at ending the war.
Talks to advance the second phase of the US-proposed plan, which includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the disarmament of Hamas, are currently deadlocked.
The agreement stipulated that 600 humanitarian aid trucks be allowed into Gaza each day, but Israeli officials have continued to impose strict restrictions on supplies entering the territory, and reconstruction of the war-devastated area has yet to begin.
