At least 11 Palestinians, including 4 children, were injured on Friday during a raid by Israeli settlers and soldiers in the Junaid neighborhood of Nablus in the West Bank, medical sources said.
According to local residents, Israeli forces opened fire and used stun grenades and tear gas during the operation. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed one person was wounded by a bullet in the abdomen.
Also on Friday, Israeli forces entered the town of Tal and several areas southwest of Nablus amid rising tensions in the West Bank. Field reporters noted that settlers and soldiers entered the Ain al-Mazrab area in Tal and the al-Ameriya area west of Nablus before withdrawing.
The Israeli military issued a statement confirming that “Israeli citizens” had entered Area A of the West Bank, which is prohibited under Israeli law, and said all had left the Nablus area. The military also said it received reports of damage to a Palestinian cemetery.
Earlier, on Thursday, Israeli soldiers raided Tal, seizing four Palestinian homes and turning them into military posts. The incident followed calls by Israeli settlers for a large march into Tal on Friday in retaliation for the deaths of two Israelis, who were among a settler group that had attacked the town the previous week.
In last week's incident, four Palestinians were killed and many wounded when Israeli settlers torched homes and vehicles. It was one of the most severe settler attacks in recent weeks.
Israeli soldiers have also repeatedly raided residential communities and detained people in the Tal and Nablus areas throughout the week, nearly imposing a blockade on the region. According to Palestinian media, at least 10 people were detained at various locations in the West Bank on Friday, including Nablus, Tal, Salem, and Bethlehem.
Raids were also reported at the Qaddura refugee camp in Ramallah, where Israeli forces fired tear gas and detained one person. In Bethlehem, a man was arrested in Wadi Shahin, and another was detained in Anabta, east of Tulkarem. According to WAFA, soldiers also briefly detained and then released some youths during a raid in Salfit.
On Thursday night, WAFA reported that a man was wounded in the neck by a bullet when Israeli soldiers fired at his vehicle in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
