Israel is seeking a six-day extension to the detention of Gaza flotilla activists seized off the Greek coast. A hearing is set for Tuesday in Ashkelon, where two activists from Spain and Brazil are being held. The request follows a two-day extension granted on Sunday.

Israel will seek a six-day extension to the detention of activists from the Gaza flotilla who were intercepted off the coast of Greece. The information was confirmed to AFP by Miriam Azem, head of the human rights group Adalah.
The court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in the city of Ashkelon, where two activists—Saif Abu Keshek of Spain and Thiago Avila of Brazil—are being held. Earlier on Sunday, an Israeli court approved a two-day extension of their detention.
“Our lawyers have been informed that the state is requesting a six-day extension,” Ms. Azem said.
