Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on November 14 reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to diplomatic solutions and announced the country is ready to take necessary measures to ensure maritime security in the region.
Speaking at a press conference, Pezeshkian emphasized: “Iran always supports dialogue and diplomacy. We are ready to work with relevant parties to ensure the safety of shipping routes, which are vital arteries of the global economy.”
The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf and the broader Middle East region, where Iran and neighboring countries have repeatedly clashed over maritime security interests. The Iranian president also noted that Tehran has made active diplomatic efforts recently to reduce tensions and promote regional cooperation.
Analysts suggest this move by Tehran could open new avenues for dialogue with international partners, particularly concerning the protection of strategic sea lanes such as the Strait of Hormuz. However, observers caution that Iran’s commitments still need to be verified through concrete actions on the ground.
