On August 14, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said the United States is angry because it has been unable to force Tehran to surrender. His remarks come amid rising tensions between the two countries over Iran's nuclear program and regional issues.
Kanaani emphasized that US sanctions and pressure against Iran have not achieved the desired results, leaving Washington frustrated. He affirmed that Tehran will not yield to external pressure and will continue to pursue its national interests.
The statement followed accusations by the US and its Western allies that Iran has violated its nuclear commitments, while Tehran insists its nuclear program is peaceful. Tensions remain high as negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear deal remain stalled.
Iran also criticized US military and political moves in the Middle East, saying they increase regional instability. Tehran warned it would respond strongly if Washington continues provocative actions.
