On November 9, Iran's Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning a terrorist attack on the railway station in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, which caused numerous civilian casualties.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei expressed condolences to the government and people of Pakistan, reaffirming Tehran's support for Islamabad's counterterrorism efforts.
Earlier, a suicide bombing at the Quetta railway station killed at least 26 people and wounded 62 others. According to Pakistani officials, the attacker detonated an explosive device strapped to his body near the ticket counter, where a large number of passengers were queuing.
Iran has repeatedly stated its opposition to all forms of terrorism, viewing it as a common threat to regional security and stability.
