On June 6, Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the joint statement issued by the United States and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) following a meeting in Saudi Arabia, calling it interference and irresponsible.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, the statement contains baseless accusations against Tehran's nuclear program and foreign policy, reflecting the biased views of Washington and some PGCC member states.
Iran insists it has always adhered to international treaties and is ready for constructive dialogue, but will not tolerate any external pressure or interference. Tehran also warned that such statements only undermine regional stability efforts.
The US-PGCC joint statement on June 5 called on Iran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and to refrain from military activities in the Gulf. Iran described these demands as unrealistic and irresponsible, especially while the US maintains economic and military sanctions.
