Tehran condemned Bogotá's decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem, describing it as a step that contradicts international law and United Nations resolutions concerning the city.
According to Iran's state news agency, a spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly criticized Colombia's announcement of plans to open an embassy in Jerusalem. Tehran stressed that Jerusalem is an occupied city and that any action altering its status has no legal validity.
Iran also said Colombia's move runs counter to United Nations resolutions and international law, and called on the international community to condemn and prevent similar steps.
