India host West Indies in the deciding match of their T20 International series on Saturday, closing out one of the most compelling white-ball tours in recent memory.
The five-match series is level at 2-2 ahead of the Bengaluru showdown, after the visitors produced record-breaking performances that have kept the T20 World Cup champions on the back foot.
How did West Indies' tour of India begin?
The teams opened the white-ball tour with three One-Day Internationals. India quickly took an unassailable lead, winning by eight wickets in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati.
After posting 351-7 in 50 overs in New Chandigarh – thanks largely to 129 off 87 balls from KL Rahul – India may have felt they already had enough to sweep the series.
Then West Indies captain Shai Hope stepped up. The opener made an unbeaten 162 off 143 balls to steer his side to a five-wicket win – the highest successful chase in West Indies' ODI history.
How has the India-West Indies T20 series unfolded?
India brushed off the disappointment of the final ODI by winning the first T20 by eight wickets with 5.2 overs to spare.
Although Hope and Sherfane Rutherford both made fifties, West Indies were bowled out for 171 as Naman Dhir took three wickets for the hosts.
Hope then struck an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls in the second match, carrying West Indies to their highest successful chase in T20 history. He hit nine sixes and six fours as West Indies reached 252-4 in reply to India's 249-5.
India regained the lead in the third match, but only by a narrow 14-run margin.
After being bowled out off the final ball of their innings, India posted 223 – led by 69 off 30 balls from Abhishek Sharma. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets as West Indies were restricted to 209-7.
How did the most recent India-West Indies T20 play out?
By the fourth match, it was Hope's show once again as the wicketkeeper-batter scored his second century of the series.
The visitors made 247-3 after being put in to bat, with Hope unbeaten on 102. His nine sixes and four fours were the most by a West Indies batter in a T20 International.
The total was the second-highest first-innings score in a T20 against India, behind only England's 257-3 in Southampton earlier this year.
Opener Sanju Samson's 56 off 23 balls gave India a strong start, but Keemo Paul's five-wicket haul helped West Indies win by 24 runs and level the series.
What has Shai Hope said about his Player of the Match awards?
After the fourth T20, Hope joked that he might have to pay excess baggage fees after collecting his third Player of the Match award of the tour of India.
"To be honest, they're pretty heavy, and we'll have to check the baggage weight," he said after the win. "I think we're going to have a bit of a problem getting home."
