Tehran, September 24 – Iran officially condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon on Tuesday, describing them as a deadly act of aggression. In a statement issued today, Iran’s Foreign Ministry asserted that the Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory constitute a grave violation of international law and have caused heavy civilian casualties.
According to Iranian media reports, at least 18 people have been killed in the hours-long airstrikes, which focused on areas south of Beirut and the Bekaa Valley. Iran accused Israel of escalating regional tensions and called on the international community to intervene to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
Israel has not yet issued an official response to Iran’s allegations. However, the Israeli military previously stated that the strikes targeted infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah, the Iran-backed armed group in Lebanon. Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have risen since the outbreak of conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
