Speaking at a meeting with senior officials and diplomatic representatives in Tehran on February 21, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that unity among Islamic countries is a cornerstone of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic. He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between regional nations to address shared challenges and promote sustainable peace and stability.
According to Pezeshkian, divisions within the Islamic world only enable external forces to interfere in the region's internal affairs. Therefore, Tehran consistently supports dialogue and mutual understanding among Islamic countries, viewing this as a foundation for resolving disputes and building trust.
The Iranian leader also touched on recent developments in the Middle East, including the situations in Gaza and Lebanon, and called on the international community to take practical action to prevent violations of international law and protect the rights of the Palestinian people. He emphasized that Iran is ready to coordinate with Islamic nations on humanitarian and political initiatives aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
Previously, in speeches at international conferences, President Pezeshkian had repeatedly highlighted Iran's foreign policy toward building balanced relations with neighboring countries, prioritizing economic cooperation and regional security. Analysts suggest that this latest statement reaffirms Tehran's consistent orientation amid the volatile geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.
