On November 19, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed a parliamentary session, asserting that the hegemonic image of the United States has been broken following recent military developments in the Middle East.
According to Ghalibaf, the recent war has demonstrated a decline in Washington's prestige and power on the international stage. "The image of US dominance has completely collapsed," he emphasized before lawmakers.
Although the Iranian official did not specify which war he was referring to, against the backdrop of rising tensions between Iran and Israel, as well as US allies in the region, many analysts believe the statement alludes to strategic US failures in maintaining influence in the Middle East.
Ghalibaf's remarks come as Iran continues to face economic sanctions from the US and the West, while simultaneously strengthening cooperation with Russia and China to counterbalance Washington.
Observers suggest the statement reflects Tehran's hardline stance amid the US adjusting its strategy in the region, including reducing its military presence in Iraq and Syria.
