On January 19, Iran officially warned the United States against deliberately creating a false image of international support for Washington's policies. The statement was made amid rising tensions between the two countries.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh emphasized that the US is trying to paint an inaccurate picture of other nations supporting Washington's stance. He stated that many countries around the world hold positions different from those portrayed by the US.
“Washington's claims of international support are entirely misleading. In reality, many nations disagree with the US approach and even oppose unilateral actions,” Mr. Khatibzadeh said.
Iran also called on the international community to view matters objectively and not to be swayed by misleading information from the US. Tehran reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with other nations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
This move comes amid strained US-Iran relations, particularly after Washington withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal and imposed new sanctions.
