A senior Iranian military commander said on August 5 that Tehran will respond decisively to any new attack, according to the official IRNA news agency.
Speaking at a military meeting, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Iran's Deputy Defense Minister for Armed Forces Support, emphasized: "Any new act of aggression against our country will receive a decisive and severe response from the armed forces."
The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the West over its nuclear program and Tehran's military activities in the Middle East. U.S. and Israeli officials have previously threatened possible military action if nuclear talks remain stalled.
The Iranian commander affirmed that the country's military is prepared for all scenarios to protect national security, while also calling on regional nations to cooperate to avoid escalating the conflict.
The move follows a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that Iran has increased high-level uranium enrichment, raising fresh concerns about Tehran's nuclear ambitions. Iran insists its nuclear program is for civilian purposes.
