On March 24, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement rejecting recent accusations by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio concerning Tehran's activities in the Middle East.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh emphasized that "every accusation from the US side is in fact a confession" about Washington's own destabilizing actions in the region. He argued that Rubio's statements lack foundation and are part of a media pressure campaign aimed at covering up US policy mistakes.
According to the Iranian diplomat, the US accusations hold no legal or practical value, and he called on the international community not to be misled by false information. Tehran insists that its activities in the Middle East are within the framework of international law and aimed at protecting the nation's legitimate interests.
This reaction comes amid escalating tensions between the two countries, particularly over the nuclear program and geopolitical influence in the Gulf region.
Washington has not yet issued an official response to Tehran's latest statement.
