The International Six Word Story Prize has closed its submission phase with participation from over 3,000 authors across multiple countries. This marks the first time the award has been organized on the online education platform Minab School, giving writers, journalists, students, and fans of micro-fiction a chance to test their skills.
Each entrant was required to submit a story of exactly six words—no more, no less—delivering a complete message. This creative challenge demands conciseness, depth, and the ability to evoke emotion within a minimal word count. Organizers said the number of entries this year far exceeded expectations, reflecting the format's strong appeal.
Minab School, the organizer, said it aimed to offer a fresh arena blending education and art, encouraging creative thinking and sharpening concise writing skills in the community. A school representative emphasized: “We believe six-word stories can move hearts and change how people see things.”
The jury includes experienced writers, editors, and language instructors. Results will be announced on Minab School's homepage and related media channels in the coming period. Winning works will be honored with substantial prizes and the opportunity to be published in an international six-word story anthology.
