A crater lake with emerald-green water in eastern Japan drew large crowds on Tuesday as the area around it reopened for the first time in more than eight years, following a lowering of the volcanic alert level. The lake, known for its distinctive color, had been closed for an extended period due to concerns over geological activity. Officials allowed residents and visitors back in once safety conditions were deemed to have improved.
