The Lebanese army announced on Tuesday that two of its soldiers were wounded in Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon's border region.
According to a Lebanese military official, the incident occurred when Israeli drones carried out three attacks on targets near the border towns of Kafr Kila and Wadi al-Hujeir. The wounded soldiers were taken to hospital for treatment; their condition has not been disclosed.
Israel has not officially commented on the incident. It is the latest escalation in a series of clashes between Israel and armed groups in Lebanon, including Hezbollah, in recent weeks.
The strikes come amid heightened regional tensions and repeated international calls for restraint to prevent a wider conflict. The Lebanon-Israel border has seen frequent exchanges of fire since the Gaza conflict erupted in October last year.
The Lebanese government condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of sovereignty and international law, and urged the United Nations to intervene to stabilize the situation.
