In a recent address, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation as an alternative to relying on foreign parties. He argued that countries in the region need to unite and coordinate closely to address current security, economic, and political issues.
Speaking at a regional conference, Ghalibaf stated: "Cooperation among neighboring and regional countries is the key to ensuring long-term stability and sustainable development. Expecting support from outside often comes with conditions that do not align with our interests."
The Iranian parliament speaker also highlighted potential areas for collaboration, including energy, trade, transportation, and border security. He called on regional nations to enhance dialogue and establish regular consultation mechanisms to resolve differences and advance joint projects.
The remarks come amid a complex landscape in the Middle East, where countries are increasingly required to adopt flexible and self-reliant approaches in their foreign policies. Ghalibaf reiterated Tehran's stance that regional security should be built from internal strength and mutual trust, rather than being subject to external influence.
