Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on [date] criticized the US strategy toward the Islamic Republic, asserting that the approach based on bullying and unfulfilled promises has failed.
Speaking at a meeting, Ghalibaf emphasized that the US administration, instead of respecting international principles, has pursued a policy of maximum pressure. However, according to him, this policy not only failed to achieve its objectives but also demonstrated Washington's inconsistency and lack of commitment in diplomatic relations.
“The US strategy of bullying and broken promises has failed,” Ghalibaf declared before lawmakers. He also stressed that Iran will continue to develop its defense and nuclear capabilities within the framework of international regulations, despite external sanctions and threats.
Ghalibaf's remarks came amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington over the nuclear program, military exercises in the Gulf, and Iran's regional role. The senior Iranian leader also reiterated the country's firm stance in defending its sovereignty and national interests.
Earlier, many Iranian officials repeatedly rejected US accusations that Tehran seeks to develop nuclear weapons, affirming that Iran's nuclear program serves only civilian and peaceful purposes.
