A SuperJob survey conducted in May 2026 found that 23% of Russians have changed careers in the past two years. The trend is most pronounced among younger workers and spans both high-tech and traditional industries.
According to a survey by the SuperJob.ru portal Research Center, nearly one-quarter (23%) of Russians have changed careers within the past two years.
Conducted in May 2026, the survey shows that the rate of job changers has remained high since the pandemic. The sectors with the greatest shifts include information technology, retail, and services.
The main reasons cited by respondents are the desire for better income, development of new skills, and adaptation to changing labor market demands. SuperJob notes that this trend reflects the increasing flexibility of the Russian workforce.
The survey results also indicate that younger people (under 35) are significantly more likely to change careers than older groups. Specifically, 34% of those aged 25-34 reported switching jobs, compared to just 12% of those over 45.
SuperJob emphasizes that career changes are occurring not only in high-skill fields but also in traditional occupations such as manufacturing and construction.
