Chinese and Algerian Leaders Congratulate Successful Launch of Communications Satellite

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika exchanged congratulatory letters on the successful launch of the Alcomsat-1 communications satellite. Xi highlighted the achievement as a new space cooperation milestone, while Bouteflika thanked China for its support, noting the satellite will enhance Algeria's telecom and disaster response capabilities.
On December 11, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika exchanged congratulatory letters marking the successful launch of the Alcomsat-1 communications satellite from Sichuan Province in southwestern China.
In his letter, President Xi emphasized that this achievement represents a new milestone in space cooperation between the two nations and will help advance Algeria's space technology development. He stated that the success reflects the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Algeria.
President Bouteflika expressed gratitude for China's support and affirmed that the event marks a significant step forward in bilateral relations. The Alcomsat-1 satellite will help Algeria improve its capabilities in telecommunications, broadcasting, television, and disaster response.
The Alcomsat-1 satellite, built by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), was launched into orbit aboard a Long March 3B rocket. It is Algeria's first geostationary communications satellite, with an expected operational lifespan of 15 years.
