Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has reacted sharply to recent remarks by the US Treasury Secretary. In a speech before lawmakers, Ghalibaf accused the US official of making biased, hostile statements that fail to reflect the reality of the regional situation.
According to the Fars news agency, Ghalibaf stressed that such comments not only cause misunderstanding but also raise tensions in bilateral relations. He warned that Washington's hardline stance would benefit no one and reaffirmed Iran's commitment to defending its sovereignty and national interests.
The United States has not yet issued an official response to Ghalibaf's remarks. However, analysts suggest the move could deepen existing disagreements between the two countries on key issues, including the nuclear program and military activities in the Middle East.
