On October 5, Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council Sadeq Larijani delivered a statement affirming that the Iranian people stand with Lebanon as the Middle East region faces significant turmoil. The remarks were made during a press conference in Tehran, where Larijani stressed that the bond of solidarity between the two countries is unbreakable.
According to Larijani, Iran will continue to provide political and diplomatic support to Lebanon, while calling on the international community to take action to prevent destabilizing activities in Lebanon. He also criticized external forces for interfering in Lebanon's internal affairs, asserting that the Lebanese people have the right to determine their own destiny.
Larijani's statement comes as Lebanon experiences a profound political and economic crisis, coupled with rising tensions along its southern border. Many analysts suggest that Iran's backing could help Lebanon address current challenges, but may also deepen internal divisions within the country.
Previously, Iran has repeatedly expressed support for Lebanon, including providing humanitarian aid and assistance for reconstruction after conflicts. However, relations between Tehran and Beirut remain complex due to the influence of various political factions in Lebanon.
