The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has addressed the visa issue concerning the Iran national team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. FIFA emphasized that visa issuance for all teams participating in the tournament is solely the host country's responsibility.
In an official statement, FIFA said: 'The issuance of visas for the Iran team, as well as all other teams participating in the 2022 World Cup, is the responsibility of the host country Qatar. We are confident that Qatar will fulfill its commitments and comply with the entry regulations agreed upon before the tournament.'
Earlier, there were concerns that the Iran team might face difficulties obtaining entry visas to Qatar due to diplomatic tensions between the two countries. However, FIFA confirmed close coordination with Qatar to ensure all teams receive the necessary facilitation.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will take place from November 20 to December 18, featuring 32 teams, including Iran. Iran is placed in Group B alongside England, the United States, and Wales.
