Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named Premier League Player of the Season after steering the club to a third-place finish and matching the league's assist record before the campaign ended.
Fernandes equaled the league's record of 20 assists, a feat previously achieved by former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry and former Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, with one match still to play.
The Portuguese midfielder also scored 8 goals, helping United secure third place and a Champions League berth.
The 31-year-old was nominated alongside Arsenal's title-winning trio of Gabriel, David Raya and Declan Rice, as well as Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo, Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and Brentford striker Igor Thiago.
Fernandes emerged as the Premier League's top creator this season, fashioning 132 chances — the most in the division. Second-placed Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool created 89 chances.
Earlier this month, Fernandes won the Football Writers' Association Men's Footballer of the Year award and collected his fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year prize.
He has the chance to hold the Premier League assist record outright on Sunday when United travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for the season finale.
United's revival since sacking manager Ruben Amorim in January saw interim boss Michael Carrick appointed as permanent successor on Friday.
Fernandes will join Portugal for the 2026 World Cup this summer, where his side opens its campaign against Congo on June 17, followed by matches against Uzbekistan and Colombia.
