Japanese national team guard Yuki Kawamura will participate in the Los Angeles Clippers' training camp after signing an Exhibit 10 contract on Sunday (August 2). He will join fellow countryman Rui Hachimura at the Los Angeles-based team.
The news was reported by Kyodo News, confirming that the 25-year-old Kawamura will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Clippers' regular-season roster ahead of the new season. An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year deal commonly used by NBA teams to bring players into training camp, while also allowing them to transition to the G League development squad if they are not retained.
Kawamura previously impressed at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and is regarded as one of the most promising guards in Japanese basketball today. Joining the Clippers gives him the chance to train alongside Hachimura, a Japanese player who has been performing well in the NBA, as they both aim for the upcoming season.
The Los Angeles Clippers have not yet made an official comment on the move. However, the decision signals that the team is actively adding depth to its roster, particularly at the point guard position, ahead of the 2026-2027 NBA season.
