Paris – On December 3, the French foreign minister held a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart, during which he reaffirmed France's full support for the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (Islamabad MoU).
According to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call took place as both sides work to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. The French foreign minister underscored that France views the Islamabad MoU as a critical foundation for advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economy, security, and culture.
For his part, the Pakistani foreign minister welcomed France's backing and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to fully implementing the provisions of the memorandum. The two officials also discussed concrete measures to boost cooperation in the coming period, including plans for high-level meetings and delegation exchanges.
The phone conversation was held in a constructive and open atmosphere, reflecting the desire of both nations to further deepen bilateral relations. The Islamabad MoU, signed in 2021, stands as a key cooperation document between France and Pakistan, focusing on trade, investment, education, and climate change mitigation.
