Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, Abbas Aliabadi, affirmed that the goal of raising bilateral trade between Iran and Pakistan to $10 billion in the coming period is entirely achievable.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart, Aliabadi said the two countries have made significant progress in promoting economic and trade cooperation. He emphasized that given the existing potential of both sides, the $10 billion target is not just an ambition but a realistic objective.
Officials from both countries discussed potential areas of cooperation, including energy, agriculture, and information technology. Both sides expressed determination to remove trade barriers and create more favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries.
Currently, Iran-Pakistan bilateral trade stands at a modest level compared to its actual potential. However, according to experts, by strengthening transport routes and border connectivity, the two countries can fully achieve this ambitious goal within the next few years.
