According to information from Iranian media channels, the spokesperson for the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohajerani, stated on June 12 that evidence collected from the scenes of the massacres in Minab and Sirik shows the "footprint of the US" in these incidents is evident.
Speaking at a regular press conference, Mr. Mohajerani emphasized that preliminary investigations by Iran's security and military forces have recorded various clues related to external intervention, particularly from the US, in the attacks targeting civilians in the two aforementioned areas, which are located in Hormozgan province in southern Iran.
"The presence and activities of hostile forces, including the US, in this region are no longer a secret. Evidence of their footprint in the Minab and Sirik massacres is clear, and we will soon release details," Mr. Mohajerani said.
Earlier, on June 10, local media reported on severe attacks in Minab town and the Sirik area that killed at least 17 people and wounded dozens of others. The incidents were described as "massacres" due to their brutality and the high number of civilian casualties.
Iranian authorities have deployed additional security forces to the area and have launched an investigation to determine the causes and perpetrators. To date, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The Iranian accusations have not yet received an official response from the US side. The development comes amid persistent high tension between Tehran and Washington over Iran's nuclear program and US military activities in the Gulf region.
