At the 8th meeting of the Asian Energy Ministers Group held in Baku, Azerbaijan, energy ministers from eight countries unanimously adopted the Baku Declaration to strengthen regional energy collaboration.
According to the declaration, member states commit to promoting investment in renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing cross-border grid connectivity. The declaration also emphasizes the importance of energy security and a just energy transition in line with global climate goals.
Participating ministers represented Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Discussions focused on establishing new cooperation mechanisms and sharing experiences in energy sector reforms.
The Baku Declaration is expected to provide a framework for member states to advance joint clean energy projects and to enhance the management and operational capacity of national energy systems.
