Security officer killed in stabbing attack in Jordan’s capital

A stabbing attack in Amman killed a member of Jordan's Public Security Directorate on Thursday, which authorities called a "cowardly terrorist attack." The assailant tried to seize the officer's weapon, was stopped by a second officer, and was arrested; both he and the second officer were injured. The attack occurred near the Sri Lankan Embassy and followed a deadly church shooting weeks earlier, though no link was immediately established.
