Indonesian president’s chief of staff dismissed over alleged wiretapping
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto dismissed his chief of staff, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, a day after police arrested him over allegations of illegally wiretapping the phones of top officials, including the president and cabinet ministers. The government said the conduct may amount to "treason," and two other senior police officers were also arrested. The motive remains undetermined, and the military deployed more than 20,000 soldiers in Jakarta, saying the move was routine.
