Ice hockey federation reiterates opposition to reinstatement of Russia

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has reiterated its opposition to the reinstatement of Russian teams, warning that immediate reintegration poses "significant practical and sporting challenges" including visa, security and logistics issues. The statement follows a CAS ruling overturning Russia's exclusion and announcements by Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Finland that they will refuse to play Russia at next year's men's World Championships in Germany. Main sponsor Skoda has threatened to reassess its involvement if Russia participates.
