Buildings damaged in Israeli bombings risk collapse as rain inundates Gaza
Heavy rain has flooded displacement camps and cities across Gaza, soaking tents, destroying bedding and leaving families exposed to cold and wind during their fourth winter of displacement. About 950,000 displaced people live in flood-exposed areas, while more than 2,000 buildings in Gaza City alone are at risk of collapse and the stormwater network can handle only about 20 percent of rainwater, according to municipal and UN figures.
