A month after Yemen government offensive began, war of attrition takes hold
One month after Yemen's internationally recognised government launched Operation Dawn of Yemen to retake Houthi-held territory, including Sanaa, the offensive has settled into a grinding war of attrition. The Houthis have suffered heavy casualties and lost ground on key supply routes, but continue missile and drone strikes on government forces and Saudi Arabia, with analysts saying the conflict is now tied to the wider regional confrontation with Iran.
