New bomb threats target European broadcasters, air traffic
A fresh wave of hoax bomb threats spread across Europe on Friday, diverting flights and, for the first time this week, targeting newsrooms including Sky, Bulgaria's Nova TV and Ireland's RTE, which briefly evacuated staff in Dublin. Hungarian authorities said fighter jets escorted airliners through Hungarian airspace, and NATO ordered an air patrol near the Hungarian-Romanian border. The emails, signed by a purported "Mikhail Andropov" under the heading "Message to the West", follow disruptions to more than two dozen flights on Thursday.
