Why are oil traders refusing to buy Russian diesel after Trump-Putin deal?
At least three tankers carrying Russian diesel to the US have changed course, and nearly a month after Trump's October deal with Putin, no diesel has reached US shores. Traders are wary of legal risk because Congress's ban on Russian energy imports remains in force despite a temporary Treasury sanctions exemption. Retail diesel prices in the US have nearly doubled since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran.
