Earthquake hits central Japan, injuring more than 20 people
A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck western Shizuoka Prefecture in central Japan at 1:04am local time Sunday, injuring more than 20 people across Shizuoka and Aichi prefectures. The quake shattered shop windows, disrupted train services and prompted warnings of possible strong aftershocks over the coming days. No tsunami warning was issued.
