Australia appoint Mike Hussey as consultant for Ashes and Cricket World Cup
Australia have appointed former batsman Mike Hussey as a consultant coach for next year's Ashes series against England, the 2027 Cricket World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Hussey, 51, turned down an informal approach from England's new red-ball coach Stephen Fleming to work as their Test batting mentor, choosing instead to help address Australia's batting struggles after a 2-1 Test series defeat in South Africa.
