Workers strike across France, hundreds of thousands expected to protest
Workers across France went on strike Thursday at the call of trade unions, with hundreds of thousands expected to protest in 260 cities and towns. Demonstrators are demanding a higher minimum wage, better pay, tax reforms and improved school conditions, amid rising living costs and political tension ahead of next year's presidential election.
