Mother and daughter both killed in grizzly bear attack, Canadian authorities confirm
Canadian conservation officers confirmed that Jenny Balcarras, an art therapist, and her 20-year-old daughter Selah Reed were killed in a suspected grizzly bear attack near a trail close to their home in Bella Coola, British Columbia. The women had been reported missing over the weekend; Balcarras's remains were found first, and Reed's body was located a day later. Officials are investigating whether more than one grizzly was involved in the fatal attack.
