US Midterm Elections 2026
Democrats have regained control of both chambers of Congress in the 2026 US midterms, but two Senate races remain uncalled: Mississippi, where Democrat Scott Colom leads incumbent Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith by 1,138 votes, and Alaska, where Democrat Mary Peltola leads incumbent Republican Dan Sullivan by 637 votes under ranked-choice voting. Alaska's results are not expected until November 18, and Mississippi has no automatic recount provision.
